Latest Updates from Our Project:

Monthly progress update
over 3 years ago – Sat, Jul 17, 2021 at 05:27:48 AM

Hi all, here is a summary of what we've been up to for the past month:

Rulebook improvements

We have made a few tweaks to the rules since the Kickstarter campaign ended and we are updating the rulebook to make sure all changes are clearly explained. We have also added "In a nutshell" call out boxes (see below) which summarise each section, making it easier to see key information at a glance. We believe these will save you a lot of time finding the key information once you played the game a few times.

The next step is to hand the rulebook over to a professional editor who will work on improving the graphic design and readability.

New passenger and player card illustrations

As you may know, backers who pledged at the First Class level will become a part of the game by having their photos "painted" into the game by our illustrator. So far we have completed 19 out of 23 of those illustrations and we're chasing up the few backers who have not sent their images in yet. (P.S. If you think this might be you, please check your inbox!)

Testing new content

We are still not 100% sure if the new player cards and special abilities are well balanced. We are hoping to organise a number of playtests over the next month to make sure none of the new cards are over-or-under powered. If you want to play Connecting Flights with the new content with us, join our Discord server where we'll be arranging games: https://discord.gg/CkyBXGksTQ

Pledge manager update

We will be using BackerKit as our pledge manager, where you will be able to enter your address and pay for shipping. We will probably open the pledge manager in September. This is because we don't want to fix the final shipping price just yet. The container prices have been very volatile in the last few months due to worldwide shipping delays. We hope that the shipping situation calms down but until it does we cannot guarantee that the shipping costs won't increase.

In other news, we also had to spend a lot of time sorting out the paperwork required to send games to the EU (EORI, VAT etc.).

Overall, we are still on track to send the files to our manufacturer by the end of August. We will post another update in a month!

New cards, new scenarios
over 3 years ago – Mon, Jun 14, 2021 at 12:01:39 PM

It's been 1 month since the Kicktarter campaign ended and this is what we've been up to:

  • Connecting Flights is now available to play on Tabletopia: link (although there still may be a few bugs to iron out)
  • Tweaked rules and difficulty of the solo/cooperative mode to improve gameplay and increase the range of difficulty settings (this is a result of the feedback we received from our reviewers). These changes are now in Tabletop Simulator and Tabletopia and we will post a summary of those changes in a comment of this update.
  • Our artist, Douglas, has been drawing our First Class Passenger pledge backers into the game. He also created some really nice illustrations for new cards (see below)
  • We had to sort out many boring but necessary tasks (accounting, taxes etc.)

We have also been working on the additional content unlocked in Stretch Goals:

  • Created 6 new solo & coop scenarios, including: Low cost airlines, The Olympics and 4 more. Each of these scenarios was tested and each one presents a slightly different challenge, but we would love your feedback on this (see bottom of the update for how you can help)! The scenarios are available in Tabletop Simulator: link or you can see one here:
Note: These will most likely be included in the rulebook (not on cards)
  • We created new Player, Event and Sabotage cards:
Some of the new cards (including new illustrations)
  • We started work on the Secret character expansion (but haven't had the time to playtest these cards yet):
(Work in progress)

Help us!

We unlocked many stretch goals, most of which are gameplay-related. We want to make sure the new content is well balanced and that new cards do not contain any exploits that could "break" the game. Easiest way to achieve this is to play the game, including the new content, with as many people as we can. If you'd like to play the Connecting Flights with the new content and provide feedback, let us know! We will be scheduling multiple sessions over the coming months on our Discord. If you don't use Discord, you can contact us on our Facebook page. We look forward to hearing from you!

We have landed!
over 3 years ago – Sat, May 15, 2021 at 04:45:34 PM

On behalf of Bazzite Games and the entire crew, I’d like to thank you for joining us on this flight.

It was a busy but also extremely rewarding month for us. We have unlocked many gameplay-enhancing stretch goals (including the the secret identity expansion, yay!) and we will need some help balancing the new cards and scenarios. If you have Discord and Tabletop Simulator, you can join our server where we'll organize weekly playthrough sessions: https://discord.gg/B35HVZ9H6G

In the meantime, we'll be working on improving the rulebook and our artist has already started creating new illustrations for the new cards unlocked through stretch goals. We will keep you updated on our progress at least once a month via Kickstarter updates.

To all of our 2000 backers: Thank you for flying with us!

PS. Dear First Class passengers - in the next few days, we will be in touch by email requesting your image for the passenger and player cards.

£70k Stretch Goal Unlocked + 27 hours left in the campaign!
over 3 years ago – Wed, May 12, 2021 at 11:08:23 PM

As we're preparing to land, please make sure your seat belt is securely fastened and all carry-on luggage is stowed underneath the seat in front of you or in the overhead bins ;)

Yesterday, we have unlocked an additional player card: Long Haul Pilot. Today, we managed to unlock another Stretch Goal... Thank you so much for your support! This time, you can choose from:

  • 2 new event cards (Tax breaks and Airport slot mix-up) adding more variability to the competitive gameplay
  • A printed Airport factsheet with detailed information (passenger traffic, longest runway length, full name etc.) on all in-game Airports.

Both Stretch Goals apply to all pledge levels. To vote for your favorite one, please go to this poll.

If we can get another ~100 backers in the next 27 hours, we will unlock the next Stretch Goal, which is the Secret Character Trait Mini-Expansion. With 6 new cards, players will assume a secret identity, adding some interesting decisions to the competitive game. Let's hope we can make this happen!

£60k Stretch Goal unlocked + possible mini-expansion?
over 3 years ago – Sat, May 08, 2021 at 10:02:24 PM

Ladies and gentlemen, as we start our descent, please make sure your seat backs and tray tables are in their full upright position. With 6 days left in the campaign, we have unlocked another Stretch Goal! As with the previous ones, the choice is yours:

  • 3 additional solo/co-op scenarios (bringing the total to 6). Even more co-op replayability!
  • Space saver version of the main board, printed on it's back. Perfect for smaller tables or solo/2 player games!

Let us know which option you prefer in this poll.

Possible mini-expansion?

We are pleased to announce that our final Stretch Goal is a Secret Character Trait Mini-Expansion. With 6 new cards, players will assume a secret identity. Once you achieve your character's objective, you'll be eligible to receive a unique reward. The characters include a Haggler, whose aim is to buy 3 or more cards in a single auction and a Mafioso, whose reward is to sabotage another player.

Many of the rewards are linked to the amount of cards/flights you have and this introduces an interesting choice: cash in the reward as soon as you meet the objective, or wait until later to get a bigger prize. We hope you're as excited about this as we are!
